Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called for calm and restraint amid growing tensions between the Itsekiri and Urhobo communities in Warri South Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor urged residents and stakeholders to avoid actions that could jeopardize the peace and stability currently enjoyed in the oil-rich city.

“We appeal to all stakeholders to support our efforts in revitalising infrastructure in Warri and avoid all acts capable of truncating the current peace in the oil-rich city,” the governor stated.
He called on community leaders, youth groups, and influencers to work together in promoting unity, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the area.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development across Delta State, Governor Oborevwori assured residents that security personnel are on ground to maintain law and order.
