Oborevwori’s Performance Driving Massive Support for APC in Delta — Victor Ucheka

A grassroots politician and businessman, Victor Ucheka, has attributed the growing wave of support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to what he described as the “remarkable developmental strides” of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ucheka made the assertion during an exclusive interview in Asaba, where he took time to assess the performance of the Oborevwori administration, insisting that the Governor has surpassed the expectations of many Deltans within a short period in office.

According to him, the visible infrastructural projects, improved governance style, and people-oriented policies of the administration have continued to earn the Governor admiration across the state, thereby strengthening public confidence in the APC ahead of future political contests.

“The level of development being witnessed across Delta State today is undeniable. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has shown commitment, focus, and a genuine passion for governance. Many people did not expect this level of performance within his first tenure, but he has proven doubters wrong,” Ucheka stated.

The Ika born Chief Executive Officer of Pathway Group of Company and Founder of the Ucheka Support Group for APC noted that Deltans are proud of the achievements recorded so far under the present administration, stressing that the ruling party at both the state and national levels should acknowledge and support the Governor’s efforts.

He further explained that the growing acceptance of the APC in Delta State is not accidental but largely tied to the confidence the people now have in the ability of the government to deliver democratic dividends.

“From road construction to human capital development and other strategic interventions, Deltans are seeing governance in action. The APC must appreciate the Governor for giving the party a stronger image in the state through performance,” he added.

While commending the progress recorded so far, Ucheka also advised the leadership of the APC to ensure transparency, fairness, and internal democracy in the process of selecting candidates for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, any attempt to impose candidates or undermine due process could weaken the unity and strength currently enjoyed by the party.

“The leadership of the party must ensure a level playing field for all aspirants. Transparency and credibility in the electoral process within the party will further strengthen APC and sustain the confidence of the people,” he said.

Speaking on the economic policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu, Ucheka expressed concern over the harsh economic realities currently facing many Nigerians, noting that the average citizen is yet to feel the positive impact of the Federal Government’s reforms.

He maintained that although reforms may require time to yield results, the present economic situation has placed enormous hardship on ordinary Nigerians due to the rising cost of living and inflation.

“Nigerians are passing through difficult times. The cost of food, transportation, and other essentials has increased significantly. People are expecting policies that will directly improve their living conditions and put smiles on their faces,” he noted.

On the 2027 general elections, the youthful politician called on Nigerians, especially young people, to actively participate in the democratic process by coming out in large numbers to vote.

He emphasized that voting remains one of the strongest constitutional tools available to citizens in determining the quality of leadership in the country.

“Our youths must not remain passive observers. They must participate actively in politics and elections because the future belongs to them. Voting is not just a right; it is a civic responsibility that gives citizens the power to shape the destiny of the nation,” Ucheka stressed.

He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that future elections are free, fair, and credible, adding that public trust in democracy can only be sustained when votes truly count.
