Dafinone Host Delta Central Leaders in Abuja Ahead of APC National Convention

Leaders and stakeholders from Delta Central Senatorial District on Thursday night converged in Abuja for a high-level dinner aimed at fostering unity and strengthening political coordination ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention.

The event, hosted by the Senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone, brought together prominent political figures and party leaders.

The gathering comes on the eve of the APC National Convention scheduled to commence at Eagle Square, and served as a platform for consultations and camaraderie among leaders from the district. Senator Dafinone described the dinner as an opportunity to deepen bonds and align strategies ahead of the crucial party event.

“It was a relaxed evening as I warmly welcomed a few of our leaders to Abuja for our National Convention,” Dafinone said. “The objective is to strengthen our unity and ensure that Delta Central speaks with one voice as we participate in the convention.”

Among those in attendance were notable leaders including Senator Ighoyota Amori, Chief John Oguma, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and the Delta Central APC Vice Chairman, Chief Ovie Agas. Others present included Chief Kingsley Esiso, Chief Isaac Akpoveta, Olorogun Bernard Edewor, Dr. Mrs Augustina Erah, Chief Mrs Tina Brown, and Oniemo Faith Majemite.

The legislative arm of Delta State was also well represented at the event, with members of the Delta State House of Assembly led by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo. Other lawmakers in attendance included Chief Perkins Umukoro, Chief James Augoye, Hon. Edafe Emakpor, Hon. Matthew Omonade, Hon. Festus Utuama, and Hon. Benson Obire.

Local government leadership was not left out, as Council Chairmen across the district attended the dinner under the leadership of the ALGON Chairman, Delta State Chapter, Chief Isaiah Onoriode Esiovwa. They were joined by Chief Bright Abeke, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, and Olorogun Vincent Oyibode.

Also present were key members of the state executive, including Commissioners Hon. Onoriode Agofure and Hon. Ejiro Jamani, alongside APC Local Government Area Party Chairmen, Secretaries, and other stakeholders, reflecting a broad-based participation across party structures.

As the convention gets underway, Senator Dafinone expressed optimism about the outcome, stating, “As the Convention begins today, I wish all participants a peaceful and successful outing.” He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the party’s objectives and strengthening its position ahead of future political engagements.
