The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and four other prominent Deltans on their appointment as members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Other appointees are Rt. Hon. Temi Harriman, Hon. Stella Okotete, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme and Chief Ayiri Emami.
The party, in a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., described the appointments as a well-deserved recognition of the experience, competence, commitment and political capacity of the appointees.
Onojeghuo particularly congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his appointment as Director of Finance/Treasurer and Delta State Campaign Coordinator, describing the responsibility as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in the governor by President Tinubu and the national leadership of the party.
Quoting the State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP, the statement said the appointments underscored the growing political importance of Delta State within the APC.
“We are delighted that our distinguished sons and daughters have been found worthy of these strategic responsibilities. These appointments are a recognition not only of their individual qualities and contributions, but also of the growing importance of Delta State in the political architecture of the All Progressives Congress,” Arenyeka said.
The APC chairman expressed confidence in Governor Oborevwori’s ability to effectively discharge his responsibilities as Director of Finance/Treasurer and Delta State Campaign Coordinator.
“His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has consistently demonstrated the maturity, diligence, organisational ability and leadership required to handle responsibilities of this magnitude. We have no doubt that he will bring these qualities to bear in his new assignment and deliver an outstanding performance,” he said.
Arenyeka also commended the appointments of Okowa, Harriman, Okotete, Olejeme and Emami, noting that their collective experience, political networks and understanding of the state would strengthen the campaign structure.
“The collective experience, networks and political understanding of these distinguished Deltans will add tremendous value to the Presidential Campaign Council. We urge them to see their appointments as a call to greater service and an opportunity to contribute to the continued progress of our great party and our country,” he said.
The Delta APC leadership called on party leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters across the state to give the appointees the necessary support to enable them succeed in their respective assignments.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to working with the national leadership of the APC towards the consolidation of the Renewed Hope agenda and the success of President Tinubu.
The Delta APC also wished all the appointees wisdom, strength and success as they take on their new responsibilities.
