“Omo-Agege’s Arise TV Interview Vindicates Oborevwori’s Position on Trust and Loyalty” – Delta APC

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that recent comments made by former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege during an Arise Television interview have vindicated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s position regarding issues of trust, loyalty, and political integrity.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC argued that Omo-Agege’s admission that his name appeared in the register of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 10, 2026, raised questions about his political allegiance.

According to the party, the revelation is significant because Omo-Agege participated in the APC senatorial primary election held on May 18, 2026. The APC contended that the development suggested dual membership in both the APC and NDC at the time, describing the situation as troubling and raising concerns about the former Deputy Senate President’s political integrity.

The party further maintained that Governor Oborevwori had previously alleged that Omo-Agege had effectively distanced himself from the APC long before his eventual exit from the party. It argued that the Arise Television interview appeared to support that claim.

The APC also noted that Omo-Agege did not address allegations concerning strained relationships with some political associates and leaders who were instrumental to his political rise. According to the party, his silence on the issue has reinforced public concerns about his political reliability.

Responding to Omo-Agege’s claim that Governor Oborevwori joined the APC out of fear of facing him in the 2027 governorship election, the party dismissed the allegation as unfounded. The APC pointed out that Omo-Agege himself had previously moved from the Labour Party to the APC, a decision it said contributed significantly to his political advancement and eventual emergence as Deputy Senate President.

The party argued that political realignments are common in Nigeria’s democratic process and that Omo-Agege should not criticize similar political decisions by others while benefiting from such moves himself.

The APC further asserted that Governor Oborevwori’s political strength is derived from his administration’s performance and achievements under the M.O.R.E. Agenda, citing infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and security as areas where the governor has recorded notable progress.

The party also questioned why Omo-Agege, whom it described as portraying himself as a major political threat to the governor, did not seek the NDC governorship ticket for the 2027 election. Instead, it noted, he opted to pursue a senatorial ambition.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the APC’s commitment to issue-based politics and support for leaders whose conduct inspires public confidence. The party urged Deltans to carefully evaluate the issues raised and make informed judgments based on the facts.
