Guwor Mourns Former Delta Deputy Governor Benjamin Elue, Hails Enduring Legacy

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has paid glowing tribute to former Deputy Governor Chief Benjamin Elue, describing his contributions to governance and peace-building in Delta State as “evergreen.”

In a condolence message following the passing of the elder statesman, who served as Deputy Governor to James Ibori between 1999 and 2007, Guwor noted that Elue’s impact on governance, community development, and conflict resolution remains indelible in the state’s history.

According to the Speaker, the late leader was a distinguished patriot, bridge-builder, and dedicated servant of Delta State and Nigeria at large. He emphasized that Elue, a native of Obior in Aniocha North Local Government Area, demonstrated rare loyalty, wisdom, and commitment to unity and growth throughout his tenure.

Guwor further described the former Deputy Governor as a revered mentor whose leadership was marked by humility, integrity, and statesmanship. He noted that Elue’s inclusive leadership style and unwavering passion for progress earned him respect across political and community lines.

The Speaker extended heartfelt condolences to the Elue family, the people of Obior, and Deltans at large, praying for the repose of his soul and strength for those he left behind.

“On behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, we share in this painful loss and pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest while giving his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his legacy continue to inspire present and future generations of leaders,” Guwor stated.
