President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday stumbled during a ceremonial march-past held in his honour at the parade ground in Türkiye.
The incident occurred as the Nigerian leader joined the guard of honour on arrival, attracting brief attention before activities continued smoothly without affecting the programme.
President Tinubu is in Türkiye on an official visit aimed at strengthening the long-standing diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Türkiye, while identifying new areas of collaboration to enhance bilateral relations.
As part of the visit, the President is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, focusing on trade, security, investment opportunities and regional cooperation.
The visit will also witness the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between both countries, alongside other strategic engagements involving top government officials.
A Nigeria–Türkiye business forum is expected to take place on the sidelines of the visit, bringing together investors from both nations to explore avenues for economic partnership and growth.
Senior members of the Nigerian delegation who received the President at his hotel include the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake; and the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd).
