Guwor Hails Oborevwori for Prioritizing Warri–Sapele–Benin Road Reconstruction

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has applauded Governor Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori for giving top priority to the reconstruction of the Warri–Sapele–Benin Dual Carriageway.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, following Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony, Guwor described the project as a vital infrastructure initiative that would boost economic activities, enhance security, and improve the overall well-being of Deltans and residents across the state.

He noted that the Warri–Sapele–Benin road had long been in deplorable condition, posing a serious challenge to motorists. The Speaker commended Governor Oborevwori for not only addressing the issue through reconstruction but also for fostering stronger collaboration with the Federal Government to attract more developmental projects to Delta State.

Highlighting other major infrastructural developments in the state, including the construction of flyovers in Effurun and Warri, Guwor said the initiatives underscored the Governor’s commitment to transforming Delta’s infrastructure landscape.

He urged the contractors handling the Warri–Sapele–Benin road and other projects across the three senatorial districts to maintain high standards, deliver quality work, and complete the projects within the specified timeframe.

Rt. Hon. Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, emphasized that every project undertaken by the state government adds value to Delta’s economy and improves residents’ quality of life.

He assured Governor Oborevwori and Deltans that the State Assembly under his leadership would continue to provide legislative support and effective oversight to ensure the timely and successful completion of all ongoing projects.

The Speaker reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to working in harmony with the executive arm to sustain the state’s developmental momentum. He also called on Deltans to disregard the antics of detractors and to rally behind the Renewed Hope for More agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
