The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The party disclosed the development in a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter).
According to Ologunagba, the decision was reached after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) held in Abuja.
He stated, “Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025. However, in view of recent developments in the party, the National Working Committee (NWC), in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), has at its emergency meeting on Monday, 13th October, 2025, approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.”
The PDP called on all NEC members to take note of the new development and await further directives from the national secretariat regarding the rescheduled meeting.
The postponement comes amid mounting pressure on the opposition party following recent defections of some of its members to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In reaction to these challenges, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, reaffirmed the party’s strength and unity, stating that no external influence or political defection would derail its plans.
Mohammed maintained that preparations for the PDP National Convention, slated for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, remain on course.
