Gov. Oborevwori Condoles with APC Chairman Yilwatda Over Mother’s Passing

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, following the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

Leading a delegation to the APC Chairman’s residence in Abuja, Governor Oborevwori expressed deep sympathy over the loss, describing the moment as one of “mixed feelings.” He noted that while the country recently celebrated Yilwatda’s emergence as APC National Chairman, the joy was quickly tempered by the sorrow of his mother’s passing.

Governor Oborevwori praised the late matriarch for living a life of impact and fulfillment, highlighting her role in nurturing a distinguished family that includes a professor, a minister, and now the national leader of the ruling party.

“She instilled in her children the values of discipline, faith, and service—qualities that clearly reflect in their accomplishments and contributions to national development,” the Governor said.

Accompanying the Governor were prominent members of the National Assembly from Delta State, including Hon. Nicholas Mutu, Hon. Francis Waive, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, and Hon. Ngozi Okolie, as well as his Senior Political Adviser, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo.

Oborevwori extended his prayers for strength and comfort to the Yilwatda family during this period of mourning.
