Delta APC Resolves to Ensure Smooth, Inclusive E-Registration Exercise

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has resolved to ensure the smooth, transparent and inclusive conduct of its ongoing continuous E-Registration exercise, as stakeholders of the party met on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, in Asaba.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, (Esq.) on the resolution of the party after a stakeholders meeting which held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, the party reviewed the progress of the E-Registration exercise and issued firm directives aimed at guaranteeing its success across the state and called on all members, leaders and stakeholders to cooperate fully with party officials and registration officers.

Speaking during the meeting, the Delta State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, disclosed that the E-Registration initiative was conceived by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as part of efforts to build a credible and comprehensive digital membership database for the party nationwide.

According to him, “The E-Registration exercise is the brainchild of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and it is designed to give the APC a credible, accurate and comprehensive digital database of its members, in line with global best practices for modern political party administration.”

Elder Sobotie further revealed that Delta State was selected as the pilot state for the exercise, a development he described as a testament to the growing strength and strategic importance of the APC in the state.

“Delta State’s selection as the pilot state clearly demonstrates the unity, capacity and rising profile of our party. So far, remarkable success has been recorded,” he said, adding that the exercise is being carried out in collaboration with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The meeting featured goodwill messages from key stakeholders, including the State Director of Protocols, Olorogun Sunday Onoriode, the Delta State ALGON Chairman, Okakuro Isaiah Esiovwa, and other party leaders.

At the end of deliberations, the stakeholders unanimously resolved that all APC Local Government Party Chairmen and Local Government Council Chairmen must take full responsibility for driving the E-Registration exercise in their respective local government areas.

They also directed that local government leaders and stakeholders’ meetings be convened immediately, “solely for the purpose of aggressively mobilising party members and ensuring total participation in the E-Registration exercise.”

The party further resolved that all APC members must revalidate their membership at the ward level, stressing that “no member of the APC shall be denied registration or revalidation by any registration officer or official.”

In addition, stakeholders warned against any attempt to sabotage the exercise, stating that “no Local Government Council Chairman, Party Chairman, registration officer or any individual connected with the E-Registration exercise is permitted to engage in any act capable of frustrating, obstructing or hampering the process in any form whatsoever.”

The APC announced that the E-Registration exercise will officially end on 31 January 2026.

“The E-Registration exercise is critical to strengthening the party’s internal democracy and preparing the APC in Delta State for future electoral engagements,” the statement added.
