The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has congratulated former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olorogun Festus Ovie Agas, as he marks his 66th birthday, praising his enduring contributions to governance and public service in the state.
In a goodwill message signed by the Delta APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, and the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party described Agas as a distinguished lawyer, seasoned administrator and accomplished statesman whose public life has been guided by integrity, intellect and commitment to the collective progress of Delta State.
According to Elder Sobotie, Rt. Hon. Agas represents “a rare breed of leader whose journey in public service reflects courage, competence and an unwavering devotion to the development of our dear state.”

The party recalled Agas’ legislative career in the Delta State House of Assembly, where he served with distinction and rose to the position of Deputy Speaker. It noted that his tenure was marked by principled leadership, diligence and a firm commitment to strengthening legislative processes and democratic values.
Delta APC also highlighted Agas’ historic role as the first indigene of the state to serve as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), as well as his later appointment as Chief of Staff. “In those roles, Rt. Hon. Agas made remarkable contributions to policy coordination, institutional stability and effective governance, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and service,” the statement added.
Beyond his years in public office, the APC described Agas as a respected elder statesman, mentor and voice of wisdom whose life continues to inspire younger generations.
As he celebrates the milestone, the party prayed for good health, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service to humanity.
