The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori following his emergence as the party’s official governorship candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election, describing the development as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership by party members and the people of the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC said Oborevwori’s emergence was “a strong indication that Deltans believe in continuity, progress, and the promise of even greater achievements in the years ahead.”
The party noted that the governor had, within less than three years in office, shown commitment to the development of Delta State through what it described as purposeful leadership and impactful governance across key sectors.
According to the statement, “His emergence as the Party’s candidate is therefore not surprising. It is a recognition of consistency, hard work, and a leadership style that remains connected to the everyday needs and aspirations of the people.”
The APC further expressed confidence that another term under Oborevwori’s leadership would consolidate ongoing achievements and accelerate sustainable development across the state.
The party also projected that a renewed mandate for the governor would create more opportunities for economic growth, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, job creation, and improved welfare for residents of the state.
“We are optimistic that this renewed mandate will bring even greater opportunities for economic growth, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, job creation, and better welfare for all Deltans,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its support for the governor ahead of the 2027 elections, the APC pledged to work with him towards building “a stronger, more united, and prosperous Delta State.”
