De Legacy Sports Supporters Club To Hold Chapter Inauguration on July 2

Delta State is set to witness a major gathering of football enthusiasts as the Delta State Chapter of De Legacy Sports Supporters Club formally inaugurates its state chapter on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

The colourful ceremony is scheduled to commence at 4:00 p.m. at the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, along the NPA Expressway, and is expected to attract football lovers, sports stakeholders, community leaders and dignitaries from across the state.

In a joint statement, the Chairman of the Delta State Chapter, Chief Chuks Leon Anyiam, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Chief Christian Bazunu, and the Publicity Secretary, Prince Adolor Ofori, disclosed that the event would feature the formal inauguration of the chapter by national officials of the club, who will also inaugurate the newly elected state executive members.

According to the statement, the Chairman, Board of Directors of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Elegbete Moses Odibo, the Prime Minister of Obotebe Kingdom, Chief Tunde Smooth, and Hon. Daniel Yingi, former member representing Burutu Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, will attend as Patrons and Special Guests of Honour.

Also expected at the ceremony are former member representing Uvwie, Okpe and Sapele Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Evelyn Oboro, and former President of the Itsekiri Youth Council, Barr. Esimaje Awani, who are also Patrons of the club.

Speaking on the significance of the inauguration, the chapter leadership described the event as “a major milestone in strengthening organised football supporters’ culture in Delta State and promoting unwavering support for Nigeria’s national football teams.”

The statement noted that the inauguration would not only formally establish the Delta chapter but also provide a platform for football enthusiasts to unite under one umbrella in promoting sportsmanship, patriotism and healthy fan engagement.

“This inauguration marks the beginning of a new chapter for football supporters in Delta State. We are inviting all lovers of football, sports enthusiasts and members of the public to be part of this historic occasion as we collectively demonstrate our passion for the beautiful game and our unwavering support for the Super Eagles,” the organisers said.

They further appealed to football supporters across the state to turn out in large numbers and contribute to making the inauguration a memorable and successful event.

De Legacy Sports Supporters Club is a football fan organisation dedicated to mobilising passionate supporters to cheer the Super Eagles of Nigeria to victory during national and international competitions while promoting unity, friendship and sports development through organised fan participation.
