By Pathway News

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s sole candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The unanimous endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was done on Sunday, October 19 2025, at a unity meeting held in Eku aimed at strengthening party structures ahead of the forth coming elections.

The motion for endorsement was moved by the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akoovwowo, and seconded by former House of Representatives member, Chief Sunny Emeyese and received overwhelming approval from party stakeholders in attendance.

The State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, in his keynote address, urged members to prioritize party unity over personal interests or leadership rivalry. He cautioned that the party’s constitution recognizes no individual as “leader of the party,” stressing that such titles often create unnecessary divisions.

Elder Sobotie also reminded members that both founding members and new entrants share equal rights and privileges within the APC, warning that internal wrangling could jeopardize the party’s success in 2027.

Speaking in a similar vein, Chief Brodrick Arigbodi noted that the APC’s chances of attracting government projects depend largely on its electoral performance in Ethiope East and appealed for greater collaboration among leaders to ensure victory for the party at all levels.

In his remarks, State Director of Protocols, Olorogun Sunday Onoriode, charged ward leaders to take the ongoing INEC voter registration seriously by mobilizing eligible voters, updating polling data, and strengthening grassroots participation.

Notable stakeholders in attendance were the Delta Central Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Delta North Chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, Delta South Chairman, Mr. Austin Oribioye, Ethiope East LGA party Chairman, Chief Julius Ogboru, Ethiope East Local Government Council Chairman, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, Chief Tony Oboro, and Former Ethiope East Chairperson, Chief Faith Majemite.

Other dignitaries present included, Chief James Omeru, Chief Martins Ohwevwho, Chief Tony Oboro, Chief Philip Eyagomare, members of the APC State Working Committee, State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo Esq, State Financial Secretary Mr. William Deniran, State Auditor, Mr. Paul Azorbor Amabiri, and Assistant State Legal Adviser Prince M.K. Okpako, alongside other party stalwarts across the LGA.

The unity meeting which ended with a renewed commitment to internal cohesion, voter mobilization and strategic organization was described as a gathering of the most comprehensive unity meeting in Ethiope East rekindling optimism about the party’s readiness for the 2027 polls.
