Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a major financial incentive package for Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their 2-0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement shared on Saturday via his personal X (formerly Twitter) handle, Rabiu praised the team’s performance, describing the win as a moment that lifted national morale.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” he wrote.
To further motivate the team, the billionaire industrialist pledged a reward of $500,000 if the Super Eagles win their semi-final match, along with a $50,000 bonus for every goal scored in that game.
Rabiu also unveiled a bigger incentive should Nigeria go all the way to lift the trophy, promising $1,000,000 for winning the final, in addition to $100,000 for each goal scored in the decisive match.
He concluded his message with words of encouragement, urging the players to maintain their momentum and continue to make the country proud.
“Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian,” he added.
Nigeria booked their semi-final spot with a convincing 2-0 win over Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech on Wednesday. The Super Eagles will now face tournament hosts Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, by 9:00 p.m., at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.
