The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated former Governor of Delta State and elder statesman, James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a political icon whose contributions to the state’s development remain enduring.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the APC, through its State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP, praised Ibori for his leadership, statesmanship, and lasting impact on the political evolution of Delta State.
Arenyeka described the former governor as “a political colossus, a bridge-builder, and a father figure whose influence in shaping the democratic evolution of Delta State remains remarkable and indelible.”
“Today, we celebrate not only the birth of an exceptional leader but also the life of a statesman whose immense contributions to the unity, stability, and development of Delta State have earned him an enviable place in history,” he said.
According to the APC chairman, Ibori has consistently demonstrated “uncommon courage, resilience, and a deep commitment to the welfare of our people,” qualities that have continued to earn him respect across political and social divides.
He also prayed for the former governor’s continued good health and long life, saying, “As you mark another milestone, we pray that Almighty God grants you continued good health, wisdom, strength, and many more years of impactful service to Delta State and our great nation. Your wealth of experience and fatherly guidance remain invaluable assets to this generation and those yet unborn.”
The party noted that Ibori’s legacy of visionary leadership, courage, and commitment to the socio-economic development of Delta State and Nigeria continues to inspire generations of leaders.
The APC further said it joined Ibori’s family, friends, political associates, traditional rulers, and well-wishers across the country in celebrating the elder statesman, wishing him renewed strength, divine protection, abundant blessings, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
The statement concluded with the traditional birthday greeting, “Happy Birthday, Odidigborigbo.”
