The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has felicitated with former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Onyekachi Ochei, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary, describing him as a distinguished statesman and visionary leader.
In a goodwill message signed by State Chairman Omeni Sobotie and State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo, the party commended Ochei’s record of service, noting his contributions to governance, legislative development, and grassroots empowerment in Delta State.
Sobotie said Ochei’s tenure as Speaker was marked by reforms that strengthened legislative independence and promoted transparency and accountability.
“Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei stands tall as an accomplished engineer, lawyer, legislator and administrator whose career has been defined by excellence, discipline and unwavering commitment to public service,” Sobotie stated.
The APC chairman further highlighted Ochei’s philanthropic efforts, including educational support, youth mentorship, skills acquisition programmes, and humanitarian interventions that have improved the lives of many less-privileged citizens.
“Through his extensive philanthropic gestures and youth empowerment programmes, he has positively impacted countless lives and communities, strengthening his legacy as a people-centred leader,” he added.
The party also praised Ochei’s service as Executive Director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), noting that he contributed to strengthening institutional capacity and advancing Nigeria’s maritime sector.
“His record as an engineer, legal practitioner, former Speaker and former Executive Director reflects uncommon brilliance, courage and capacity,” Sobotie said, adding that Ochei remains “a shining example of purposeful leadership and selfless commitment to humanity.”
The Delta APC joined Ochei’s family, friends, political associates, and well-wishers across Delta State and Nigeria in celebrating his life of service, praying for greater wisdom, sound health, and many more years of impactful contributions to society.
