It was a carnival-like scene at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Friday, September 19, 2025, as Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, returned to the state.
The Governor’s flight touched down at 12:15 p.m., and almost instantly the entire arrival wing came alive with songs, cheers, and chants of solidarity from an overwhelming crowd of supporters who had gathered hours before his arrival.
At the forefront to receive him were his deputy, Prof. (Mrs.) Ngozi Odu, and a host of political leaders and stakeholders representing all 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
Waving enthusiastically and acknowledging the sea of supporters, Governor Fubara described the reception as an outpouring of genuine love and a strong signal of unity among the Rivers people.
“The energy here today is a reminder of the resilience and togetherness that define us as a people,” he told the crowd, visibly moved by the electrifying atmosphere.
For many in attendance, the gathering was more than just a welcome—it was a renewed declaration of loyalty to the Governor and his administration.
