2027: Charles Azuka Halim Unveils People-Centred Agenda for Aniocha/Oshimili Reps Seat

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, the Labour Party’s House of Representatives hopeful for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Charles Azuka Halim, has unveiled a comprehensive development agenda centred on transparent leadership, inclusive governance and sustainable development.

Halim, whose campaign is anchored on the slogan, “Your Voice, Your Future, Our Progress,” said his aspiration is driven by a desire to provide effective representation that prioritises the needs of the people over politics. He noted that his vision is to ensure every community benefits from equitable development while giving constituents a greater voice in governance.

“My aspiration is to usher in a new era of inclusive, transparent and people-driven representation where every community enjoys equitable development, every citizen has a voice, and every government intervention leaves a lasting impact,” Halim said. He added that his manifesto is “not just a collection of campaign promises, but a practical development agenda designed to address the pressing challenges facing our constituency.”

The Labour Party candidate identified healthcare, education, security, infrastructure and agriculture as key priorities of his proposed legislative agenda. He pledged to attract federal intervention projects to rehabilitate and equip primary healthcare centres, expand access to essential medicines, promote preventive healthcare through community outreach programmes and introduce mobile health clinics to underserved rural communities.

On education, Halim promised to facilitate the renovation of dilapidated schools, establish digital literacy programmes, provide computer laboratories, institute scholarship and bursary schemes, and support regular capacity-building initiatives for teachers.

He also stressed the importance of accountability, promising regular town hall meetings, quarterly reports on legislative activities and constituency projects, as well as the establishment of a fully functional constituency office to ensure continuous engagement with the people.

Addressing economic development, Halim said agriculture remains central to the prosperity of the constituency and pledged support for farmers through subsidised farm inputs, extension services, strengthened cooperatives and improved market access.

He also outlined plans to improve rural roads, provide clean water through borehole projects, expand rural electrification and support community policing initiatives.

“True representation means listening to the people, remaining accessible and ensuring every decision reflects the collective interest of our constituents,” he said, expressing confidence that his agenda would deliver lasting progress for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency if elected in 2027.
