Delta Govt. Resolves Land Dispute in Ewulu Community As Chief Uzor Charge Publishers on Effective Reportage

Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace building and Conflict resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor has disclosed that the land dispute in Ewulu Community Aniocha South Local Government Area has finally been resolved.

Chief Edwin Uzor stated this when he played host to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Prince Joseph Orhomonokpaye and his team of regular Community newspaper publishers.

Chief Uzor said the dispute which led to the death of a young man in the community in 2024 was finally resolved following several meetings with the youth body, traditional ruler and the family of the deceased and assured that all parties involved have agreed to give peace a chance.

“Today August 1 2025, we held a meeting with Ewulu youths including the traditional ruler and his Chiefs, where a dispute that happened towards the end of last year and a life was lost.

“That matter went to the police and we waded into the case and today we have been able to resolve the matter totally”

“The youths have surrendered to the King, pledged their loyalty and apologized, the man who died has been laid to rest and the family is working out modalities how the community will look for some palliatives for them” Chief Uzor stated.

While commending the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Prince Orhomonokpaye and his team of regular newspaper publishers, Chief Uzor urged the group to effectively report the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration so as to ensure those at the grassroot are well informed.

He said “as you already know the Governor has done a lot, currently he has just approved over 200 billion naira worth of projects.

“Every part of the State is filling the positive impact of governance. The promotion of these good works is in your hands as Journalists. You must report correctly, promote the Governor, promote State so that people out there will know what is happening in Delta State”.

Earlier in his remarks, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Prince Orhomonokpaye commended Chief Edwin Uzor for his proactive role in resolving all forms of crisis in the State so as to ensure that there is peace in the State which is part of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.

He appealed to the Special Adviser to always carry along the regular publishers of community newspaper saying they reach out to those at the grassroot their publication. On his part, Publisher of Pathway News, Comrade Victor Ucheka while giving the vote of thanks, thanked the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace building and Conflict resolution for his timely intervention in resolving the dispute in his community, Owa-Oyibu, Ika North East Local Government Area.
