Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has handed over newly constructed and remodelled headquarters facilities to the Nigerian Army at Effurun Barracks, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, in a move aimed at strengthening security operations and deepening civil–military cooperation in the Niger Delta.
The facilities, inaugurated on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, comprise 13 newly built offices at the 3 Battalion Headquarters and 22 remodelled offices at the Sector I Headquarters, all within the Effurun Barracks.
Speaking at the commissioning, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, described collaboration as the cornerstone of effective security delivery.
“Sustainable security cannot be delivered by one institution acting alone; it thrives where there is collaboration between public and private institutions,” Pondi said, noting that this philosophy underpins Tantita’s security strategy.
He recalled that since Tantita was engaged by NNPC Limited in August 2022, the company has worked closely with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to combat crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and economic sabotage across the Niger Delta. According to him, the professionalism and operational leadership of the Army have been critical to the gains recorded so far.
Pondi explained that the project went beyond infrastructure, stressing that the facilities were designed to enhance coordination, improve operational readiness and promote the welfare of officers and men tasked with protecting national assets.
“Today’s commissioning is not merely about erecting buildings or offices. It represents an investment in people, capacity and operational effectiveness,” he said.
He added that the project, executed as part of Tantita’s corporate social responsibility, was completed in record time after commencement in August 2025, a development he attributed to effective public–private partnership.
The Tantita boss also expressed appreciation to NNPC Limited, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Project Management Office, host communities and security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force, for their support.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Emekah, commended Tantita for its consistent support to security operations and infrastructure development in the region, noting that the projects aligned with his command philosophy of operational effectiveness, administrative efficiency and troop welfare.
Similarly, the Commander, 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Moronfolu Shonibare, said the collaboration with Tantita had significantly strengthened efforts to secure pipelines and curb oil theft, with positive implications for national oil output.
The Commanding Officer, 3 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Major Salman Mohammed, said upgrading the battalion headquarters was a priority upon his assumption of office, describing troops as the unit’s most valuable asset.
“With the support of Tantita Security Services Limited, we have been able to construct and fully furnish a new battalion headquarters,” Mohammed said, adding that the improved facilities would boost morale, professionalism and operational efficiency among personnel.
