The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Delta State Chapter, has congratulated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria.
In a press statement issued on behalf of members of the association, the Chairman of PASAN Delta State Chapter, Comrade Timi Appah, described Guwor’s emergence as well-deserved, noting that it reflects his sterling leadership qualities and commitment to legislative excellence.
According to the statement, PASAN said the development did not come as a surprise, given the Speaker’s “demonstrated leadership capacity, humility and wisdom” in steering the affairs of the 8th Delta State House of Assembly.
“Rt. Hon. Guwor has shown uncommon maturity and administrative competence in piloting the affairs of the Delta State House of Assembly, and this new national responsibility is a clear testament to his capabilities,” the statement said.
PASAN further noted that the Speaker’s election is a major milestone not only for him personally but also for Delta State, as it positions the state prominently in national legislative discourse.
“This achievement places Delta State at the centre of legislative discussions at the national level, and it is a source of pride to all stakeholders within the parliamentary system,” Comrade Appah stated.
The association expressed optimism that Guwor’s leadership would bring positive reforms and stronger collaboration among state legislatures across the country.
PASAN concluded by offering prayers for divine guidance, urging God to grant the Speaker “the wisdom and strength to successfully pilot the affairs of the Conference of Speakers and take it to greater heights.”
