Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted to the viral video showing his wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, in an emotional outburst, describing her recent behaviour as the result of “drug-influenced” actions and “unprovoked carnage.”
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, accompanied by a short video, the Delta North lawmaker claimed that his wife’s current struggles stem from substance and alcohol abuse, which he said has severely affected their marriage.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” Nwoko wrote. “She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.”
According to the senator, Regina allegedly went on a violent spree in his absence, assaulting domestic staff and damaging property.
“She slapped and hit three staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs,” he alleged.
Nwoko said he had proposed two rehabilitation options for his wife — one in Asokoro, Abuja, and another abroad in Jordan — to help her recover in an environment “where she will not have access to drugs.” He also dismissed any suggestion of domestic violence, stating that “none of my other wives will ever accuse me of violence.”
The senator further accused some of Regina’s close friends of worsening the situation by enabling her alleged drug use, referring to them as “drug suppliers.”
His reaction follows a viral video on Saturday that showed Regina Daniels visibly upset during a confrontation. In the clip, she was heard saying:
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
The video sparked public concern and prompted a response from her brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, popularly known as Sammy West, who took to Instagram to accuse Nwoko of assault.
“Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood,” he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, Regina Daniels and her representatives are yet to issue an official statement addressing the senator’s claims.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko tied the knot in 2019, and their union has often attracted public attention due to the couple’s age difference and high-profile-lifestyle.
