The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, the Asagba of Asaba, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a monarch of exceptional intellect, integrity, and vision whose reign has fostered lasting peace and development in the Asaba Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message signed by the State Chairman of the Party, Elder Omeni Sobotie, and made available to journalists in Asaba on Thursday, the APC commended the revered monarch for his outstanding contributions to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria—both as an accomplished academic and as a traditional ruler.
Sobotie noted that the Asagba’s reign has been marked by peace, inclusiveness, and wisdom, adding that under his leadership, the Asaba Kingdom has experienced remarkable social harmony and cultural renaissance.
“His Majesty embodies a rare fusion of traditional wisdom and modern intellect,” the statement read. “He has consistently championed unity, cultural preservation, and grassroots development, strengthening the social fabric of our State and nation.”
The APC chairman praised Prof. Azinge’s distinguished achievements before ascending the throne, describing him as a legal luminary and constitutional scholar of international repute.
The statement highlighted the monarch’s illustrious career as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), noting that his scholarship and public service have left indelible marks on Nigeria’s legal and academic landscape.
According to the Party, the Asagba’s leadership style—defined by inclusiveness, foresight, and commitment to the common good—has earned him admiration across traditional, academic, political, and diplomatic spheres.
“Through humility, bridge-building, and an unwavering commitment to peace and development, His Majesty has redefined the role of a traditional ruler in contemporary Nigeria,” Sobotie stated. “His influence transcends Asaba, as he continues to promote education, youth empowerment, and inter-ethnic harmony.”
The Delta APC further observed that the monarch’s values align with the Party’s principles of service, unity, and progress, describing his leadership as a beacon of hope and a model for traditional rulers nationwide.
