Delta APC Debunks Allegations of Fraud in E-Membership Registration, Reaffirms Transparency

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has dismissed as false and misleading claims circulating on social media alleging illegal and fraudulent use of people’s National Identification Numbers (NIN) and phone numbers in the party’s ongoing e-membership registration exercise.

In a statement issued under the leadership of the State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the party described the allegations—purportedly authored by one William Aminugo—as “fallacious, malicious and deliberately crafted to misinform the public and mislead party members.” The APC said the report was aimed at creating fear and confusion while undermining the credibility of the registration process.

The party categorically denied that any form of illegal or unauthorized registration was taking place anywhere in the state. It stressed that the e-membership registration is being conducted transparently, lawfully and strictly in line with guidelines issued by the party’s National Secretariat. According to the statement, no local government area, including Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Ethiope West or Ethiope East, is involved in any fraudulent exercise.

“For the avoidance of doubt, no illegal, unauthorized or fraudulent registration of APC members is taking place anywhere in Delta State,” the party stated, adding that the exercise remains credible and well coordinated.

Delta APC further clarified that no leader of the party, “either old or new,” has called for the cancellation, suspension or termination of the e-membership registration exercise. It urged members to completely disregard any contrary claims.

The party strongly condemned what it described as the circulation of fake reports and alarmist narratives intended to discredit the APC and sabotage a progressive initiative designed to strengthen the party’s membership base across the state.

Warning of possible consequences, the APC said it would not hesitate to invoke disciplinary measures in line with its constitution and could pursue criminal action against any individual found deliberately spreading falsehoods capable of bringing the party into disrepute.

To address genuine concerns, the party advised members to channel complaints through official channels, including the State E-registration Coordinator, Prince Fred Mordi, and the respective Senatorial District Coordinators, for proper investigation and redress.

Delta APC concluded by urging members to remain focused and continue participating actively in the ongoing e-membership registration exercise, while advising the general public to rely only on official communications from the party and its recognized organs.
