The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, a member of the party, on the successful passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill by the Delta State House of Assembly, describing the development as a significant milestone in the collective efforts to accelerate development across the state.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., in which the APC also applauded the Delta State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, for what it described as a thorough, transparent and constitutionally compliant legislative process.
According to the statement, the ₦1.73 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year, aptly christened the “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda,” clearly reflects the commitment of the Oborevwori administration to fast-track rapid and unprecedented development in Delta State through people-oriented policies and programmes.
“The Delta APC heartily congratulates His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, our leader and a proud member of the All Progressives Congress, on the successful passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill by the Delta State House of Assembly. We also commend the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, and all Honourable Members of the House for discharging their constitutional responsibilities with diligence, unity of purpose and a deep sense of commitment to the welfare of Deltans,” the statement read.
The party noted that the budget’s strong emphasis on capital expenditure demonstrates the administration’s resolve to consolidate ongoing infrastructure projects, expand socio-economic opportunities and improve service delivery across all sectors of the state economy.
Onojeghuo further stated that the seamless collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature in the budget process is a clear indication of stable governance and shared vision aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
“The ‘Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda’ is a clear affirmation that the Oborevwori administration is fully determined to accelerate development under the M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security. This budget provides a solid framework for sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity across Delta State,” the APC said.
The party assured Deltans that, with the passage of the 2026 budget, the state is firmly on the path of progress, adding that the government remains committed to prudent fiscal management, transparency and effective implementation of projects and programmes.
While congratulating the Governor and the House of Assembly, the Delta APC urged all stakeholders to support the successful execution of the budget in the overall interest of the state, reaffirming its confidence that Delta State is in good hands under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
