Delta APC Commends Peaceful Reps Primaries, Urges Members To Remain United

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended party members, leaders and stakeholders for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the House of Representatives primary elections across the various federal constituencies in the state.

The party described the violence-free exercise as a reflection of the growing unity, discipline and democratic culture within the APC in Delta State, noting that the process truly reflected the wishes of party members at the grassroots.

Speaking at the APC State Secretariat in Asaba, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Barrister Valentine Onojeghuo, praised members for their maturity, peaceful conduct and commitment throughout the primaries.

According to him, the successful conduct of the exercise was made possible by the leadership style of the Governor of Delta State and leader of the party in the state, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, who ensured fairness and equal opportunity for all aspirants.

“What we witnessed across Delta State was a peaceful, transparent and credible process. There was no room for intimidation or unnecessary tension because every aspirant was given a fair opportunity to participate,” Onojeghuo stated.

He said Governor Oborevwori’s insistence on fairness and internal democracy created an atmosphere that allowed party members to freely make their choices without interference.

“His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, ensured a level playing field for everyone. That is why the candidates who emerged today can genuinely be described as products of the will of party members across their various constituencies,” he added.

The APC congratulated all aspirants who participated in the primaries for their responsible conduct and also congratulated those who emerged victorious, urging them to remain humble and magnanimous in victory.

The party stressed that the primaries should not be seen as a battle among opponents but as an internal democratic process aimed at strengthening the APC ahead of future elections.

“There is no winner without the support of others. Now that the primaries are over, everyone must come together and work for the continued growth and success of our party. We have every reason to stay united and focused as we move toward 2027,” Onojeghuo said.

The Delta APC reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful, transparent and inclusive democratic processes, expressing confidence that the spirit of unity and cooperation displayed during the primaries would further position the party for future electoral victories in the state.
