Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Delta State’s 25 local government areas have expressed strong support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, applauding what they described as his exceptional performance and visible strides in infrastructural development.
Following a closed-door meeting with the governor at Government House, Asaba, on Friday, the APC Chairman for Aniocha South and Coordinating Chairman for Delta North, Mr. Norbert Akachukwu, addressed journalists, stating that the visit was to update the governor on happenings within their respective LGAs.
“We came to meet with our father, our amiable governor, and the leader of the party in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,” Akachukwu said. “The meeting was fruitful. We came to brief him on developments in our local government areas.”
He revealed that the integration process of the party across the 25 LGAs was progressing steadily and had reached an advanced stage.
“At this point, we’ve achieved over 80 percent integration across the state. In the coming days, we expect to hit 90 to 100 percent completion. All 25 APC chairmen were in attendance—no one was absent,” he emphasized.
Akachukwu dismissed concerns about political threats from other parties in the state, maintaining that the APC remains the dominant and most organized political force in Delta.
“There’s no serious opposition party in Delta State capable of matching us. Whether it’s the ADC or any other party, we are strong enough to win in a free, fair, and credible election. There is no cause for alarm,” he asserted.
He went on to commend Governor Oborevwori for his focused leadership and dedication to infrastructural growth, noting the ongoing and completed multi-billion-naira projects executed by reputable contractors across the state.
“Governor Oborevwori is a proven performer. The projects being undertaken all over the state speak volumes of his commitment. And now that he is closely working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the pace of development has further improved. We are proud of his leadership, and Deltans are proud of him too,” Akachukwu stated.
The APC chairmen’s endorsement of the governor highlights a rare show of bipartisan unity and acknowledgment of performance beyond party lines in the state’s political landscape.
