Delta APC Celebrates Speaker Guwor, Lawmakers On Third Anniversary of 8th Assembly

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, and members of the House on the third anniversary of the inauguration of the 8th Assembly.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the APC commended the lawmakers for their contributions to democratic governance, lawmaking, oversight, and representation of the people of Delta State over the past three years.

The State Chairman of the party, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP, described the milestone as a significant achievement and praised the Assembly for its dedication to promoting peace, stability, and good governance in the state.

“Three years in the life of a legislature is a significant achievement. On behalf of our great party, I congratulate Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor and all members of the Delta State House of Assembly for their service, sacrifices, and contributions to the development of our state,” Arenyeka stated.

He noted that despite the challenges associated with governance, the Assembly has remained focused on its constitutional duties of lawmaking, representation, and oversight.

“The legislature remains one of the most important institutions in any democracy. We are encouraged by the Assembly’s efforts in providing the legislative support needed to drive development, strengthen democratic institutions, and improve the welfare of our people,” he added.

The APC chairman also commended the cordial working relationship between the House of Assembly and the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing it as a partnership that has helped sustain stability and progress across the state.

“We acknowledge the support the Assembly has continued to provide to the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Governance delivers better results when there is cooperation among the different arms of government, and Deltans expect nothing less than a shared commitment to the growth and prosperity of our state,” he said.

Arenyeka urged the lawmakers to remain committed to transparency, accountability, and people-centred legislation as they commence another legislative year.

“As the House enters its fourth year, we encourage the Speaker and his colleagues to continue to place the interests of Deltans above all else. The people look up to their elected representatives for leadership, effective representation, and policies that will positively impact their lives,” he stated.

Expressing confidence in the Assembly’s future performance, the APC chairman said the House would continue to play a vital role in advancing democratic governance and supporting the development aspirations of Delta State.

The party wished Speaker Emomotimi Dennis Guwor and all members of the Assembly continued success, wisdom, and good health in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

The congratulatory message formed part of activities marking the third anniversary of the inauguration of the 8th Delta State House of Assembly.
