Delta APC Applauds Gov. Oborevwori Over Kwale Free Trade Zone Project

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful groundbreaking of the Kwale Free Trade Zone (KFTZ), describing it as a significant milestone in the state’s quest for economic transformation.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the party hailed the initiative as a bold step toward industrialization, economic diversification, and sustainable growth in Delta State.

According to the APC, the Kwale Free Trade Zone, located in Ndokwa land, will serve as a strategic investment hub capable of attracting both local and foreign investors. The party noted that the project is expected to stimulate industrial expansion, generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and boost activities in key sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and technology.

The statement further applauded Governor Oborevwori’s decision to situate the project in Ndokwa land, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to equitable development and regional balance in line with the administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

The APC also observed that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes economic diversification and infrastructure growth through private-sector participation.

“The Kwale Free Trade Zone represents a forward-looking investment in Delta’s future,” the statement read. “It will strengthen the state’s industrial base, create jobs, expand revenue opportunities, and position Delta as a preferred destination for investors.”

The party noted that the project has the potential to foster unity and collaboration across ethnic and political lines, expressing readiness to partner with the state government to ensure its successful execution for the overall benefit of Deltans.

“With this groundbreaking, Delta State is poised to lead the Niger Delta region into a new era of industrialization, economic diversification, and shared prosperity,” the APC stated.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote economic revitalization and sustainable development under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
