Court Grants Blord Bail After Weeks in Kuje Prison Over Alleged VDM Impersonation

Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been granted bail after spending several weeks in Kuje Correctional Centre over allegations of impersonating social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan.

The update was made public on Friday by activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore through a statement posted on his verified Facebook page.

According to Sowore, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted Blord bail on self-recognizance but directed him to surrender his international passport as part of the conditions attached to the release.

He wrote: “Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions.”

Blord had been remanded in custody on April 1 while awaiting further proceedings in the matter.
