BUA Chairman, Rabiu Commends Super Eagles, Upholds $500,000 Pledge Despite Defeat

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has praised the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, for their courage and commitment on the pitch, announcing that he will still fulfill his pledged reward of $500,000 USD despite the team falling short of ultimate victory.

In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday on his Facebook page, Rabiu described the Super Eagles as “brave” and commended their fighting spirit, unity, and determination throughout their campaign, noting that they made the entire nation proud.

“You fought with your hearts, gave your all, and showed true courage and determination on the pitch,” Rabiu said. “Though it wasn’t meant to be this time, you have made every Nigerian proud.”

Acknowledging the disappointment that comes with defeat, the BUA Cement CEO emphasized that effort and character matter just as much as results in sports.

“Sometimes, even our best efforts don’t bring the outcome we hope for, but the spirit, passion, and unity you displayed are what truly matter,” he stated. “You left everything on the field, and that is worthy of celebration.”

Rabiu further announced that he would proceed with the pledged $500,000 USD reward as a mark of appreciation for the team’s dedication and the joy they brought to Nigerians.

“As a token of appreciation for your remarkable journey and effort, I am still going ahead to fulfill the pledge of $500,000 USD,” he said. “This is in recognition of your hard work, dedication, and the joy you have brought to our nation.”

He concluded by encouraging the players to remain optimistic about the future, expressing confidence in their potential for greater success.

“Keep your heads high, Super Eagles. The experience, lessons, and spirit will fuel even greater success next time,” Rabiu added. “Nigeria will always be proud of you, and we believe in your future victories.”

The gesture has been widely hailed as a strong show of sportsmanship and support for Nigerian football, reinforcing morale within the team and among football fans nationwide.
