2027: AAU Alumni Association, Asaba Chapter Passes Vote of Confidence in Gov. Oborevwori, Endorses Him for Second Tenure

The Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma Alumni Association, Asaba Chapter, has formally endorsed the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, for a second term in office.

The endorsement followed a vote of implicit confidence in the Governor passed at the Association’s monthly meeting held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in the Conference Hall of the Office of the Head of Service, Asaba, Delta State.

The motion for the endorsement was moved by Mr. Karo Ovemeso, a one time National President of the Association and seconded by Mr. Olisemedua Eboka.

The Asaba Chapter Chairman, Sir Vincent Ohwofadjeke, who presided over the meeting subsequently ratified the motion to the unanimous approval of members present.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Sir Ohwofadjeke commended Governor Oborevwori for projecting the image of Ambrose Alli University positively through what he described as unprecedented governance achievements in Delta State.

He noted that the Governor, during his electioneering campaign, promised to deliver MORE to Deltans, adding that available records and visible developmental strides clearly showed that the Governor had lived up to those promises and would exceed all he had outlined to do in the years ahead

He stated that AAU,  Ekpoma through Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, had become indelible in the history of Delta State as the Governor was properly groomed and nurtured by the institution for the position he currently occupies.

“Based on the statistics of work done so far, no Deltan needs a soothsayer to know that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has surpassed expectations and truly deserves a second term in office”, the Chairman said.

He pledged the Association’s commitment to mobilising support for the Governor’s re-election at the appropriate time.

“We will work collectively to mobilise support for the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. His performance has been outstanding and merits continuity.

“As a responsible body, we first passed a vote of confidence in him for the good governance he has delivered to Deltans, and then proceeded to endorse him for a second term. We will continue to pursue this agenda to ensure its realisation in 2027″, he added.

Also speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Comrade Ogochukwu Aduba, affirmed that the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration had made far-reaching impacts across the state.

According to him, the policies and programmes of the administration and his zeal to deliver quality projects had touched lives and transformed communities beyond expectations.

“This is the real taste of the Ukodo that was promised during the 2023 gubernatorial election. I am confident that no Deltan wants to miss the taste”, Aduba said.

He explained that the endorsement was a deliberate decision by the Association, noting that Governor Oborevwori is a product of Ambrose Alli University and had upheld the institution’s long-standing reputation for excellence through his style of governance.

“The Governor has performed remarkably well and genuinely deserves a second term. Through his credible leadership, he has further elevated the image of Ambrose Alli University within and beyond the academic community.

“This is the time for us to collectively support one of our own who is excelling in political leadership. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains an inspiration, and we are prepared to rally around him for sustained good governance beyond 2027”, Aduba concluded.
