The governments of Ogun and Lagos states have confirmed that British-Nigerian two-time unified world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday.

According to an official statement jointly issued by the Ogun State Special Adviser on Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, and the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, the vehicle conveying Anthony Joshua and three other persons ran into a stationary truck.

The accident reportedly resulted in two fatalities, while Anthony Joshua and another passenger sustained injuries.
