Tompolo Launches Delta Security Trust Fund with N10 bn Donation

High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to peace, partnership, and sustainable development in Delta State with the official launch of the Delta State Security Trust Fund in Asaba.

At the event held on Thursday at the Government House, Asaba, where he served as Chief Launcher, Tompolo described the initiative as a “strategic investment in peace, progress, and the protection of lives and property.”

Commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and members of the State Security Council for their foresight in establishing the Fund, Tompolo praised the administration for creating a sustainable public–private partnership model to strengthen security and ensure lasting peace across the state.

According to him, “Security is the cornerstone of sustainable development. No community, no investor, and indeed no government can thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity.”

He explained that the Fund was not just about mobilizing financial resources but about fostering long-term collaboration and commitment among stakeholders to build a safer and more stable Delta State.

Tompolo, who has played a pivotal role in maintaining peace and security within the Niger Delta region, emphasized that effective security management demands both adequate funding and strong partnerships between government, citizens, and the private sector.

“As citizens and stakeholders, it is our collective responsibility to support this fund with sincerity and commitment,” he urged.

Pledging his personal support, Tompolo said his involvement transcends financial donations, describing it as a commitment to continued collaboration for a peaceful and prosperous Delta.

He expressed confidence that with unity and shared purpose, Delta State can achieve a future “where people live without fear, where children can dream freely, and where development flourishes unhindered.”
