The South-South Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, and the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the stakeholders’ meeting of the Council, held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Asaba, Delta State, under the leadership of Chief Chinedu Mayor Enujeko, former National President of the NYCN.

The Council also expressed confidence in the National Transition Committee (NTC) of the 5th–7th National Convention held in Abuja, commending its efforts toward ensuring stability and inclusiveness within the youth body.
In its resolutions, the South-South Zone reaffirmed its unity and commitment to the progress of the Council, noting that its alliance with the South-East Zone would further strengthen collaboration and build a formidable front for youth development across the two regions.

The communiqué further recommended that the forthcoming National Convention should provide official wears for all recognized Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs), describing it as a symbolic gesture of unity and liberation for the Council.
It also resolved to convene regular stakeholders’ meetings to deepen the leadership structure and consolidate the gains of youth participation in national development.

The communiqué was jointly signed by Chief Chinedu Mayor Enujeko (Leader/Convener, South-South Zone), Elder Richard Uboh (Pioneer Deputy President, NYCN), Comr. Ezekiel Don Peters (NTC VP, South-South), Comr. Sagboje O. Milton (Delta State Chairman), Amb. Engr. Chimenem B. W. (Rivers State Chairman), Fidelis Orhuegbe (Edo State), Amb. Dimie Eze (Bayelsa State), Comr. Atsuwele O. Toritseju (Chairman, Communiqué Drafting Committee), Comr. Wilson Ikhioya (National VYO), and Hajia Kate Unaghan (National VYO).
The meeting also witnessed the official declaration of aspirants from within and outside the region who are vying for various elective positions in the October 2025 convention in Abuja.
The aspirants solicited the prayers and support of the stakeholders having undergone their successful screening by the national electoral committee.
