Breaking: Delta APC SEC Passes Vote of Confidence in President Tinubu, Endorses Gov. Oborevwori for 2027 Elections

The Delta State Executive Committee (SEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a unanimous vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and endorsed him as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The SEC also threw its full weight behind Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s governorship candidate in Delta State.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo (Esq), the Delta APC reiterated its unwavering commitment to unity, discipline, and service.

The landmark resolution was reached during a strategic meeting of the SEC held at the party’s state secretariat in Asaba under the leadership of the State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.

The meeting was attended by members of the State Executive Committee, as well as APC chairmen from all 25 local government areas across the state.

In his opening remarks, Elder Sobotie emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and loyalty within the party ranks, urging members to remain steadfast in their commitment to building a stronger APC in Delta State.

He called on party leaders to embrace reconciliation and inclusivity, stressing that internal cohesion is critical to the party’s success in the upcoming general elections.

Deliberations during the meeting focused on strengthening grassroots mobilization, healing internal divisions, and repositioning the APC as the dominant political force in Delta State. The State Chairman also briefed the committee on an upcoming empowerment programme scheduled for next month, aimed at improving the welfare of party members and their communities.

The highlight of the meeting was the unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for 2027. The SEC praised his visionary leadership, bold economic reforms, and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which it said has rekindled national confidence and placed Nigeria on a path to stability and progress.

Similarly, the SEC endorsed Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori as the sole APC governorship candidate for Delta State in 2027. Members cited his record of service, inclusive leadership style, and his performance under the M.O.R.E. Agenda as key reasons for their decision.

The motion for the endorsement was moved by Chief Ubu Jiminyevwe Digbame, the State Assistant Auditor of the party, and seconded by Pastor Norbert Sochukwudinma, Chairman of Aniocha South LGA. The motion was received with a thunderous ovation, signaling overwhelming support for both leaders.

The meeting concluded with a prayer led by Sir Joshua Kekeje, Chairman of Ughelli South LGA, for peace, unity, and continued progress of the APC in Delta State and across the country.

The party affirmed its readiness to mobilize grassroots support and deliver a resounding victory in the 2027 elections.
