Official: Manchester United Completes Signing of Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig

Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig, securing the highly sought-after talent on a five-year deal.

The 21-year-old forward joins the Premier League giants for an initial fee of £66.26 million (€76.5 million), with an additional £7.36 million (€8.5 million) in performance-related bonuses. United saw off strong competition from Newcastle United to land the prolific attacker.

Šeško, who netted 39 goals in 87 appearances for Leipzig since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023, expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Red Devils.

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future,” he told the club’s official website. “When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to keep growing and start competing for the biggest trophies again soon.

“From the moment I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family atmosphere around the club. This is clearly the perfect place to reach my full potential and achieve my ambitions.”

United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, believes Šeško has all the attributes to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.

“Benjamin combines electrifying pace with physical presence, making him one of the most exciting young forwards in world football,” said Wilcox.

“We’ve tracked his development closely, and all our analysis confirms he has the qualities and mentality to succeed here. Under the guidance of Ruben Amorim and our outstanding performance staff, Benjamin will be in the ideal environment to fulfil his world-class potential.

“The eagerness shown by all our new signings to join this club highlights the enduring appeal of Manchester United as we continue building a squad capable of challenging for the game’s top honours.”

Šeško becomes United’s latest addition in what is shaping up to be a bold summer of investment at Old Trafford.
