In a major political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, renowned businessman and grassroots politician, Prince Martins Uzoma Idaboh, on Wednesday officially declared his intention to contest for the Aniocha North Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The declaration, held at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Secretariat in Issele-Uku, drew party leaders from ward and local government levels, stakeholders, supporters, youth groups, and community members who gathered to witness what many described as the beginning of a new political movement in the constituency.
Speaking to a cheering crowd of party faithful, Prince Idaboh said his decision to join the race came after continuous calls, consultations, and appeals from party leaders, elders, women, youths, and concerned stakeholders across Aniocha North.
According to him, the growing desire for purposeful, responsive, and people-oriented leadership inspired him to step forward and answer the call to service.
“After extensive consultations and repeated calls from our leaders, elders, youths, and women across Aniocha North, I have decided to answer the call to serve our people. This project is bigger than one man; it is about our shared future and the need for quality representation that truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of our people.”
Popularly known as Prince UZ, the aspirant noted that while the official campaign season had not commenced, he was already committed to building bridges and deepening engagement with constituents across the local government.

He promised to provide accessible, humble, and result-driven representation, leveraging his years of political experience, business acumen, and grassroots connection to advance the fortunes of Aniocha North.
“Leadership must be felt by the people. If entrusted with this mandate, I will remain accessible, accountable, and fully committed to delivering dividends of democracy to every ward and community in Aniocha North.”
Prince Idaboh further pledged to run an issue-based and inclusive campaign anchored on unity, youth empowerment, human capital development, economic opportunities, and infrastructural renewal.
“Our young people deserve opportunities, our women deserve inclusion, our elders deserve respect, and our communities deserve development. Together, we can build an Aniocha North that works for everyone.”
He stressed that his years of community engagement and relationship-building had prepared him for the task ahead.
“I have spent years understanding the needs of our people and contributing in my own way to community growth. If given the opportunity, I will be a bridge-builder, a unifier, and a strong voice for Aniocha North at the State Assembly.”
The APC aspirant also called on party members and residents of the constituency to remain united and focused as the 2027 elections approach, insisting that only unity, discipline, and strategic collaboration can secure victory and sustainable progress.
“This is the time to close ranks, put aside differences, and work together for the common good of our people. Our future is brighter when we stand together as one family.”
In a display of political maturity and statesmanship, Prince Idaboh commended Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as visible developmental strides across Delta State.
He reaffirmed his support for the governor’s re-election bid, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and commitment to the continued progress of the state.
“Governor Oborevwori has shown dedication to governance and development. I will continue to support every sincere effort aimed at moving Delta State forward.”
In his remarks, Chairman of APC in Aniocha North Local Government, Sir Matthew Chinye, offered prayers for the aspirant and wished him success in his political journey.
He urged Prince Idaboh to proceed with the next stage of the political process, including the purchase of his nomination form, while cautioning party members against divisive comments, sentiments, and abusive language toward leaders or fellow aspirants.
“Prince Martins Uzoma Idaboh is a tested and trusted son of the soil. We believe he has the capacity, character, and competence to represent Aniocha North effectively. We urge all party faithful to remain united as the APC continues to provide leadership at both the state and national levels.”
Prince Idaboh’s declaration, the first major public declaration by any aspirant in the constituency, has injected fresh momentum into the race, with many describing his entrance as a welcome development capable of reshaping the political landscape of Aniocha North ahead of 2027.
