The Director of Strategic Partnership and Revenue of the Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DYTM), Comrade Samuel Tega Akponine (JP), has expressed the readiness of the newly inaugurated executives and members of the movement to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Akponine stated this on Tuesday at the inauguration of the executives and members of DYTM in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
He said the movement was committed to building a strong, united, empowered and politically conscious generation of young people capable of participating meaningfully in governance, leadership and community development.
According to him, the inauguration marked the beginning of a broader grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at taking the message and programmes of the movement to young people across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
Akponine said, “The Delta Youth Transformation Movement is ready to mobilise our members and young people across Delta State in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“We believe that young people must not remain spectators in the political process. We must be active participants and partners in building the Delta State and Nigeria we desire.”
He explained that DYTM would focus not only on political participation but also on youth empowerment and human capital development through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare awareness, leadership development and grassroots engagement.
“We are building a responsible youth structure that will empower our young people economically, socially and politically. Our objective is to ensure that young people are equipped with the knowledge, skills and opportunities required to contribute positively to their communities,” he said.
The DYTM Director further said the organisation would use its grassroots structure to engage youths across the 25 local government areas, adding that its activities would promote unity, responsible citizenship and sustainable development.
Akponine noted that the movement would support policies and programmes capable of improving the lives of young people while encouraging them to participate actively in governance and community development.
“We are not just forming a political support group; we are building a movement of young people who are conscious of their responsibilities and determined to contribute to good governance and sustainable development.
“Our message to the youths of Delta is simple: the future belongs to us, and we must prepare ourselves to take our rightful place in leadership and development,” he added.
He called on young people across the state to join hands with DYTM in its mission to build a prosperous, progressive and politically conscious Delta State.
The newly inaugurated executives and members of DYTM pledged their commitment to the objectives of the movement and to sustained grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
