Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District met on Sunday at the Petroleum Training Institute in a show of political alignment, pledging firm loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The strategic gathering, attended by top government officials, party leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, focused on strengthening internal unity and preparing the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Discussions centred on organisational reforms, enhanced cooperation across wards and local government areas, and sharpening readiness for what leaders described as a “decisive political season.”
Moving the motion pledging Delta Central APC’s unwavering loyalty, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, lauded President Tinubu’s strides in national security and economic stabilisation. He noted that several regions were recording improved security due to the President’s renewed push against insecurity.
Keyamo also applauded Governor Oborevwori’s infrastructural drive, describing the ongoing developments across Delta State as “unmatched.”
He cautioned party aspirants ahead of the APC congresses, warning that political tickets would not be obtained “from Abuja” without the backing of grassroots leaders. According to him, loyalty to party structures remains essential for electoral success.
Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, highlighted what he termed a strategic political shift in the state, stating that the APC was steadily gaining ground. He emphasised the need for genuine grassroots involvement and warned members to stay resilient amid anticipated political pushbacks.
Chairman of the Delta Central APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, described the zone as the party’s “political engine room” and stressed that discipline must be restored within the ranks.
Akpeki asserted that Governor Oborevwori remains the sole leader of the party in Delta State, insisting that “any loyalty outside this structure is unacceptable.”
He announced new reforms to improve coordination, including monthly senatorial meetings rotated across the eight LGAs and the creation of a Delta Central Caucus Committee responsible for strategic planning, conflict resolution, mobilisation, and performance tracking.
Prominent speakers including Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Ejiro Waive, NEXIM Bank Executive Director Stella Okotete, Chief Solomon Igrakpata, and Chief Andrew Oru, all underscored that unity remains the APC’s most potent weapon ahead of the elections.
Local government party chairmen also committed to delivering overwhelming votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in 2027.
At the end of the strategic meeting, leaders reaffirmed their resolve to reposition Delta Central APC as a disciplined and cohesive political force. Their message was clear: with unity, structure, and loyalty as guiding principles, the party is determined to secure sweeping victories in 2027.
