Protecting Oil Assets is Protecting Nigeria – Pondi Affirms

…As Tantita Security Services Receives Top National Honor in Abuja

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has been awarded the prestigious Grand Defender of the Nation Award (Oil & Gas) at the Niger Delta Night of Honor 2025, held on Thursday, August 28, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

The event was part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations of GbaramatuVoice, a leading media platform in the Niger Delta.

Receiving the award on behalf of Tantita, the company’s Managing Director, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin E. Pondi, reiterated the organization’s unwavering commitment to protecting Nigeria’s critical oil and gas infrastructure.

Pondi stressed the devastating impact of pipeline vandalism on national development and revenue generation, warning that attacks on oil facilities directly threaten the country’s economic lifeline.

“Once you touch any pipeline, you hinder the development of this country,” he said. “Without oil, we would not be able to be who we are; we can’t even pay salaries without the oil.”

He expressed gratitude to GbaramatuVoice for the recognition and called on citizens, especially those in oil-producing communities, to support security efforts by reporting suspicious activities around oil facilities.

Pondi emphasized that safeguarding Nigeria’s oil infrastructure should be a shared national responsibility, given its vital role in sustaining the country’s economic stability.

He also highlighted Tantita’s frontline role in the Federal Government’s renewed campaign against crude oil theft. According to him, the company continues to deploy a combination of community-based intelligence and cutting-edge surveillance technology to secure pipelines and other critical assets across the Niger Delta.

The award presentation was one of the highlights of the Niger Delta Night of Honor 2025, an event dedicated to celebrating the region’s culture, leadership, and unity, while marking a decade of GbaramatuVoice amplifying the hopes and voices of the Niger Delta people.
