Otuaro Debunks Defection Rumors, Reaffirms Commitment to PDP

Immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has firmly dismissed reports suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as false, baseless, and misleading.

In a statement posted on his official facebook page, Otuaro expressed dismay over the circulation of what he termed as “speculations and misleading reports” regarding his alleged move to the APC.

He stated unequivocally that he remains a “bona fide and committed member” of the PDP, the party on whose platform he was elected and served as Deputy Governor for eight years.

“I wish to state clearly and unequivocally that such claims are false, baseless, and should be disregarded in its entirety,” Otuaro said. “My faith in the ideals, vision, and guiding principles of the PDP remains strong and unshaken.”

The former Deputy Governor reiterated his loyalty to the PDP, noting that the party continues to represent his political values and aspirations.

He described the rumors of defection as a “calculated attempt to create confusion,” urging the public and political stakeholders to pay them no heed.

Otuaro also called on members of the PDP to remain focused and committed to the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its structure and consolidate on past achievements.

“The task before us as members of the PDP is to strengthen our great party, consolidate on our achievements, and continue to uphold the values that have kept the PDP as a formidable political family,” he emphasized.

The statement comes amid heightened political activities across the country as parties begin strategic repositioning ahead of upcoming elections.

Otuaro, a respected legal practitioner and grassroots politician, served as Deputy Governor of Delta State from 2015 to 2023 under the PDP administration.
