Just In: Dr. Akpoveta Commends Gov. Oborevwori’s 10,000 Widows Welfare Scheme, Enrollment Into Health Insurance

The Director General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the enrollment of 10,000 beneficiaries of the Widows Welfare Scheme into the state’s health insurance program.

In a statement issued to newsmen, Dr. Akpoveta described the move as a significant stride towards strengthening healthcare delivery, especially for vulnerable groups across the state.

According to him, the inclusion of these new beneficiaries is expected to further enhance the Commission’s impact and reinforces Delta State’s position as a leading State in health insurance implementation in Nigeria.

Dr. Akpoveta praised Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to making healthcare affordable and accessible for all Deltans. He reiterated the Commission’s dedication to actualizing the Governor’s MORE Agenda in the health sector and achieving universal health coverage in the state.

The DG called on stakeholders in the health sector particularly, health institutions in the State to brace up for more result driven insurance scheme for all beneficiaries, urging them to continue to discharge their duties in line with the new policy guidelines.

This strategic enrollment underscores Delta State’s resolve to provide quality healthcare to its citizens, particularly the most vulnerable, thereby fostering a healthier and more inclusive society.
