The Delta Progressives Movement (DPM) has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for the successful groundbreaking of the Otovwodo Flyover in Ughelli, describing the project as a major boost to infrastructure development in the area.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the group said the flyover project would significantly ease traffic congestion at the busy Otovwodo axis, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the overall urban outlook of the Ughelli metropolis.
Speaking on behalf of the movement, Comrade Kefe Stanley Ikpeni said the project reflects the governor’s commitment to people-focused governance and sustainable development.
“The Otovwodo Flyover is more than an infrastructure project; it is a clear statement of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to practical governance and people-oriented development,” Ikpeni said.
“This project will greatly improve mobility, commerce, and safety in Ughelli, and we commend His Excellency for this bold step.”
He added that the initiative is in line with the governor’s MORE Agenda, particularly in the areas of infrastructure renewal and inclusive development across the state’s senatorial districts.
According to DPM, the flyover, when completed, will serve as a catalyst for long-term socio-economic growth, not only for Ughelli residents but for Delta State as a whole.
The movement also urged residents of Ughelli and other Deltans to continue to support the Oborevwori administration, noting that strategic projects such as the Otovwodo Flyover would translate into improved living standards and economic prosperity.
DPM congratulated the governor on what it described as a laudable milestone and reaffirmed its unwavering support for policies and programmes aimed at advancing the progress and development of Delta State.
