Delta APC Hails Peaceful Ward Congresses, Congratulates Newly Elected Executives

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has congratulated newly elected Ward Executive Committee members, leaders, stakeholders, and supporters following what it described as the peaceful and successful conduct of ward congresses across the state’s 270 wards.

In a statement issued on February 18, 2026, and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq, the party said the congresses were orderly and devoid of the rancour, acrimony, and violence often associated with political exercises. The APC noted that the hitch-free process reflects growing unity, political maturity, and a shared commitment among members to strengthen the party’s structure.

The party attributed the success of the congresses largely to a stakeholders’ meeting held on January 23, where key leaders agreed on consensus arrangements in line with party guidelines and constitution. According to the statement, the decision fostered inclusivity, harmony, and collective ownership of the process, proving to be timely and in the best interest of the party.

Delta APC also acknowledged the leadership role of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, stating that his alignment with the APC has strengthened unity within the party. The party said the governor has demonstrated commitment to cohesion and reconciliation, achieving what it described as a 95 percent integration of various interests within the Delta APC family in record time.

The statement further noted that the peaceful outcome of the ward congresses vindicates deliberate efforts by party leaders to promote consensus and unity over divisive tendencies. It urged the newly elected ward executives to use the opportunity to build a formidable grassroots structure anchored on transparency, fairness, and inclusivity.

Describing the wards as the foundation of the party’s strength, the APC charged the executives to promote discipline, accountability, and grassroots engagement while fostering reconciliation and open communication among members to consolidate gains and ensure future electoral success.

The party commended members for their patience, discipline, and confidence in the leadership, adding that the APC in Delta State remains united and focused on providing purposeful leadership. It also called on members to sustain the spirit of cooperation as the party prepares for the next stages of its congresses.
