Management and staff of the Asaba Specialist Hospital (ASH) came together in an atmosphere of love and thanksgiving to celebrate the hospital’s 2025 End-of-Year Thanksgiving and Award Ceremony, during which over 30 staff members from various departments were honoured with cash awards for outstanding performance.
In her welcome address, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr. Peace Ighosevwe, commended the hard work, dedication and resilience of members of staff, assuring them of management’s continued commitment to their welfare.

“This award ceremony is our way of recognising your dedication to duty and motivating you to do even more. Despite the challenges, our staff have remained committed to service delivery, and management will continue to prioritise your overall welfare,” Dr. Ighosevwe said.
Highlighting the hospital’s achievements in the outgoing year, the CMD noted that ASH recorded significant progress through the support of the Delta State Government and the Ministry of Health.

“In the last one year, we have achieved a lot. We now have a functional dialysis unit where over 100 dialysis sessions have been successfully conducted for patients. The state government has also provided critical equipment, including MRI machines, while our staff have benefitted from various training programmes to enhance service delivery,” she explained.
Dr. Ighosevwe expressed gratitude to God and the Delta State Government for the successes recorded in 2025, while expressing optimism for greater achievements in the coming year in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
“We are optimistic that in the coming year, Asaba Specialist Hospital will record even more positive results, particularly in the areas of free maternal healthcare for pregnant women and under-five children under the Contributory Health Scheme, expansion of service delivery and facilities, increased staff strength, and research,” she said.

In his goodwill message, the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor and Chairman of SERVICOM in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, praised the management and staff of ASH for their contributions to the wellbeing of Deltans.
“You have played a vital role in improving healthcare delivery in the state, and I commend your commitment and professionalism. I urge you to continue to give your best in the delivery of quality services to our people,” Funkekeme stated.
He further assured that the Delta State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, remains committed to positively impacting all sectors of the economy, especially the health sector, for the benefit of citizens.
The event featured special ministrations and prayers and was climaxed with the presentation of cash awards to deserving staff from each department in recognition of their hard work, diligence and exemplary service throughout the year.
