Tinubu to Visit Three Nations for High-Level Summits

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2, for a three-nation diplomatic trip covering France, Kenya, and Rwanda, the State House has announced.

According to a press statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, where he will participate in the upcoming Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 to 12.

The summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, is expected to focus on key issues such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to the global financial system.

The event, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together African leaders and their French counterparts to discuss strategies for economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and regional stability.

Following the Nairobi summit, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to 15. The forum, held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers from across the continent.

With the theme “Scale or Fail,” discussions at the forum will centre on accelerating Africa’s economic growth through regional integration, cross-border investment, and the development of competitive industries.

President Tinubu is expected to use both platforms to highlight his administration’s ongoing economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for investment. He will also hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders during the trip.

The President will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
