Asaba Specialist Hospital Offers Free Dialysis, Tests To Mark World Kidney Day

In commemoration of the global health event, World Kidney Day, the Management of Asaba Specialist Hospital has announced a three-day medical outreach aimed at promoting kidney health awareness and supporting patients with kidney-related conditions.

The hospital disclosed that the programme, scheduled to hold from March 12 to 14, 2026, at its premises in Asaba, will provide a range of free medical services to patients in need of kidney care.

According to the hospital management, the initiative is designed to create awareness about kidney diseases while ensuring that patients who require urgent care receive necessary medical support.

As part of the activities lined up for the celebration, the hospital will provide free dialysis sessions, free blood tests, and free pharmacy consumables for eligible patients. In addition, free blood will be made available for patients who may require blood transfusion during the programme.

The management also announced that the first 50 patients to register at the General Out-Patient Department (GOPD) on March 12 will benefit from free kidney function tests.

The hospital described the initiative as part of its commitment to improving kidney health awareness and delivering quality healthcare services to residents and surrounding communities.

Members of the public have been encouraged to inform friends, relatives, and loved ones who may benefit from the services, while prospective beneficiaries have also been advised to register early due to the limited number of available slots.

Management of the hospital reiterated that the celebration provides an opportunity for the public to learn more about kidney health and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of kidney-related diseases.
